Watershed Information and Outreach Mini-grants: Request for Proposals


The South Dakota Discovery Center in partnership with the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources is soliciting proposals for watershed information and outreach mini-projects.  Please forward this opportunity to your networks.

Proposal Overview:

 Due Date: April 30, 2012

Priority Topics:
• Wetlands, Watershed, and Ground Water ecology
• TMDLs
• Nutrient and manure management (no demonstration projects)
• “Smart Growth” and low impact development
• Phosphorous and nutrient criteria
• Healthy watershed protection (http://www.epa.gov/healthywatersheds/)      

Priority Outcomes (only one outcome required):
Outcome 1. Increased awareness and/or knowledge of watershed ecology.
Outcome 2. Increased awareness of non-point source pollution prevention, causes, effects and 
remedies.
Outcome 3. Increased awareness of and participation in non-point source best management practices.
Outcome 4. Increased capacity to deliver non-point source information and outreach.        

Funding:
1. Proposals may request up to $10,000
2. Proposals must provide 40% of total project costs as cash or inkind.
