Important points.
- Invest in good shoes. They are a must.
- Run in a safe place. Hilger’s Gulch, the play trail, and the bike path along the river offer a good trail and nice views.
- Take at least one day’s break between training. You need to recover.

Week one
Begin with a brisk 5-minute walk, then alternate 60 seconds of running and 90 seconds of walking, for a total of 20 minutes. Finish with another 5-minute walk.
